Also, you can buy half this quantity of meat and just proceed with the preparation instructions. Note: Use a meat thermometer! Cooking times may vary. Step 5 Remove from the oven and let rest at least 20 minutes before slicing.Just keep an eye on the meat thermometer and don't let it cook past medium rare! *USING A MEAT THERMOMETER IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ENSURE YOU COOK THE MEAT TO YOUR LIKING* If you'd like the meat more cooked, leave it in the oven longer. Roast for 20 to 30 minutes, then reduce the heat to 300☏ and roast until a meat thermometer registers 125☏ for rare/medium rare, 30 to 50 minutes (the roast will continue to cook slightly after removing from the oven). Pat slightly to get it to stick to the meat. Step 4 Pour the remaining 4 tablespoons of olive oil over the rib loin and pour on the rub mix.Mix the salt, crushed peppercorns, rosemary leaves, thyme leaves, and garlic. Strip the leaves from the rosemary and thyme springs. Place the tricolor peppercorns into a bag use a rolling pin to crush the peppercorns. Add 2 tablespoons of oil and sear both halves until they're a nice dark golden color. Step 3 Heat a large skillet over very high heat.Step 2 Cut the rib loin in half (roast halves separately for more controlled/even cooking.).Step 1 Preheat oven to 500☏. Remove the roast from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.Thinly slice the meat for roast beef sandwiches, cube it and make beef stew or steak pot pie, or use it in beef stroganoff. A ribeye is a portion of that roast that is cut out as an individual steak, before it's cooked.Ī Christmas roast like this works great in so many other dishes. ![]() Prime rib means a whole rib roast, like what's cooked here. They both come from the same cut, but the difference between prime rib and ribeye is how they're butchered. I'll say it once more: A meat thermometer is your best friend! Don't go beyond that or it'll end up dry and tough. 125 to 130 degrees will get you to medium doneness. Prime rib is best cooked to rare or medium rare, so I aim for about 120 to 125 degrees. What temperature should prime rib be cooked to? Factor in about 20 minutes for that.) But if you like yours more done, you're going to want to budget for more time. I prefer really rare prime rib, so it takes about an hour to an hour and a half for my 14-pound roast that I cut in half. The second is how rare or done you like your meat. It depends on a few factors: The first is how large your prime rib is. Very sad. Also, be sure to take your meat out of the fridge 30 minutes to an hour before you plan to cook it. It is the key to success, because cooking times may vary widely. They're inexpensive and you can find one at just about any grocery store. ![]() Don't attempt to make this prime rib without a meat thermometer. Use a meat thermometer! Please, I beg of you. What is the secret to making perfect prime rib? All you need when roasting a nice cut of beef is a reliable meat thermometer: it's the best insurance against overcooking it… which is a tragedy of epic proportions. Here's how I make it: But in this case, impressive doesn't need to mean complicated or difficult. Prime rib sounds impressive and that's because it is impressive. That was the menu I fixed for the Christmas special on Food Network and it's the menu I'll be fixing again this year. This is my version of prime rib, which is as good the next day, sliced cold right out of the fridge, as it is served warm on a plate with potatoes, mushrooms, and Brussels sprouts. I’m not sure there's anything more special for Christmas dinner than a beautiful, perfectly cooked piece of roast beef. ![]()

We know that our B has is a metal and therefore it makes sense that it would have a positive charge. So if we take a look here, we have our be looking on a periodic table. And remember, non metals tend to gain electrons and therefore becoming negatively charged. They're going to become positively charged. So before we look at this question, remember, we're gonna say that medals, they tend to lose electrons, so they're gonna lose electrons. It says, from what you know about ion formation in the periodic table, which ion would be unlikely to occur. In the next video, we'll see exactly how many electrons will we lose or gain for any particular element. So just remember, the whole reason elements gain and lose electrons is to become just like the noble gasses. I'm gaining negatively charged electrons, so I'm gonna become more negative as a result. So non metals tend to gain electrons to become negatively charged ions called an ions. If medals lose electrons, then non metals must be gaining electrons. Medals will go in greater detail on what types of metals are Type one medals and what other types of metals are. When metals have multiple charges, then they're referred to as type two. When a metal possesses one charge, we refer to them as type one medals. AT T could represent the positive charge that the ion gains, and it makes sense because if you're losing negatively charged subatomic particles in the form of electrons, you're going to become mawr positively charged Now, medals themselves medals can have either one type of positive charge or multiple types of positive charges. When it comes to medals, medals tend to lose electrons to become positively charged ions called cat ions. So if there number of electron matches one of the nearest noble gasses, now we're going to stay here. But just realize when it comes to the elements, the leader lose or gain electrons. What that means specifically will talk about several chapters from now. The reason these elements want to become the noble gas is because noble gasses themselves have the optimal number off outer shell electrons. ![]() Okay, so remember two different ways to describe the same column of the periodic table. Now, remember, your noble gasses are the elements that are found in Group eight A or Group 18. Now the elements of the periodic table will either lose or gain electrons to become just like the noble gasses. ![]() 2/24/2024 0 Comments Plex poster size![]() ![]() It’s a bad design for the, like, 7 or 8 other reasons I described in this and about 4 other comments I’ve posted here. That is the single thing I did not directly criticize- that it uses space. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad design that it can use a lot of space There really needs to be a better solution, and, in the meantime, Plex needs to give users the ability to adjust the frequency at which they generate/second. And who knows what dimensions and image quality they’re stored in? It’s absurd. That’s 900 images for a 30 minute episode on standard settings. In fact, it wasn’t even in the file, I had to add it manually.įurthermore, those thumbnail images, are numerous. With a default of ‘2’ (for a thumbnail generated ever 2 seconds) changed to ‘4’, that space could be halved, and that setting really should be in the interface, not buried deep in the preferences file. The GenerateBIFFrameInterval option, which was pointed out to me in another comment, is that which can be adjusted to change exactly how massive this space gets, as those preview thumbnails seem to be responsible for the vast majority of that space (my 124 GB dropped to 13.9 GB once I deleted those thumbnails). It seems like a feature which they didn’t put a huge amount of forethought into, especially when it comes to granular management of how much space those thumbnails consume. If I were a Plex dev, I’d be seriously starting to think about how libraries of larger sizes are managing their metadata such as video preview thumbnails. Yeah, I would consider that a HUUUUGE problem. But this directory gets stored with the rest of Plex’s AppData on the system drive and quickly balloons in size. Most people install their apps on a smaller system drive and store their media on separate, larger drives. Keep in mind, Plex doesn’t set up this directory in a place typically designated for a large amount of data - or where a typical user might want a large mount of data to be stored. Even still, it’s bad data management to not know, either way, when an app like Plex is throwing huge amounts of data onto your drive, especially one not specifically designated to store large amounts of data/this type of data, especially when you’re unaware of exactly how much it’s going to generate. While it may be nothing for some to just throw away half or a whole terabyte on thumbnails, it is no trivial concern for others. One should have the ability to see how much it’s taking up within the interface along with the ability to adjust how much space is being used by tweaking the interval of how often those thumbnail previews are generated. I’ve set the preview interval from 2 to 4 frames, hopefully halving the necessary storage space required. SOLVED! Thanks, everyone! It was the video preview thumbnails. This particular PMS install is about 4 years old since I had to restore after a catastrophic drive failure. Now, I’ve tried using the ‘Clean Bundles’ feature, which reduced the size a bit, but it’s still pretty large. The rest is dispersed throughout the rest of the directories. It’s mostly split between these directories: Yet my Plex Media Server directory in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server (macOS) is a whopping 124 GB. My library has 1,232 Films (mostly 1080, a few 4K), 171 TV shows (mostly 1080, a few 720 and 480), and 16 Docu-Series. must take some amount of storage, but I had no idea it would be so much, and, honestly, I don’t think it should be this much, considering that my library isn’t all that big. I realize that caching all of those thumbnails and posters, etc. I’ve never thought to check and see how large the system files files were. I’ve had a Plex server running for about 15 years, back since it was XBMC, through all of its versions.
